By booking, attending, or using cupglow.co.uk you agree to these terms. We trade as Cup & Glow by Lona. Contact: cupglowbylona@gmail.com, 07365 244400. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
Nothing here takes away your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other UK consumer law.
The service
We provide beauty and complementary treatments: massage, cupping therapy, facials, and brow and lash work, as listed on the Treatments page. Prices are in pounds sterling as shown on that page. Treatments marked “coming soon” (including dermaplaning, microneedling and chemical peels) are not for sale until we say they are.
Cupping and massage are complementary therapies. They are not a medical diagnosis, prescription, or NHS treatment. If you have a health concern, speak to your GP or another qualified clinician before you book.
Women-only studio
The studio is a single-sex space for women. We provide this as a single-sex service. We may refuse a booking that would mean the session is no longer women-only. If you are unsure whether the studio is right for you, ask before you book.
Age
You must be 18 or over to book, unless we agree in writing beforehand. Wet cupping and other treatments that break or irritate the skin are for adults only.
Bookings and payment
Appointments are made by phone, WhatsApp, or Fresha when that link is shown on the site. A booking is confirmed when we accept the date and time. Payment is due as we tell you when you book (including payment in studio). First-visit code GLOW20 is 20% off one treatment for a first booking. It cannot be combined with other offers, is non-refundable and non-transferable, and expires three months from issue. Mention the code when you book, or enter it on Fresha if you book there.
Cancellation and lateness
Please give at least 24 hours’ notice to change or cancel. If you cancel later than that, miss the appointment, or arrive so late that we cannot complete the treatment, we may charge up to the full treatment price. That is to cover a reserved slot that cannot be filled. If we have to cancel, we will offer a new time or a refund of any amount you have already paid for that appointment.
Distance-selling cooling-off rules do not usually apply once you have asked us to provide a service on a specific date and we have reserved that time for you.
Health form — every visit
We complete a health and consent form with you before every treatment. That includes returning clients. A form from a previous visit is not enough. If anything has changed — medication, pregnancy, illness, injury, skin condition, surgery, or how you felt after last time — you must tell us on this visit’s form, even if you think it is minor.
Treatment does not start until the form for that appointment is filled in. Completing it is your consent to that day’s treatment. If you refuse, or the answers mean the treatment is unsafe, we will not go ahead. If you arrive and then decline the form, we may still charge for the reserved slot.
The form is for your safety. Please answer honestly. We cannot adapt the treatment to a risk we have not been told about.
Tell us in advance
Do not wait until you are on the couch. Contact us before the appointment (phone or WhatsApp) if you have, or have recently had, any of the following — or anything else that might affect massage, heat, skin or cupping:
- Pregnancy or possible pregnancy
- Recent surgery, dental work, injections or cosmetic procedures
- Fever, infection, open wounds, rash, sunburn or unbroken skin that is sore
- Blood disorders, anaemia, blood-thinning medication (including aspirin if you take it regularly), or clotting problems
- Heart condition, epilepsy, diabetes, low blood pressure, fainting, or dizziness
- Keloid scarring, or a history of poor healing
- Allergies (including to adhesives, dyes, essential oils, latex or metals)
- Cancer treatment, or advice from a clinician to avoid massage or cupping
We may refuse, postpone or change the treatment. That is to protect you. If you are unsure, ask us before you travel.
During treatment
Speak up at once if pressure, heat, a cup or a product hurts, feels wrong, or makes you dizzy, sick or short of breath. We will stop or ease the treatment. We may stop a session ourselves if we see a reaction or think it is no longer safe. Hygiene protocols apply in the room (clean linen, single-use items where required, and hand hygiene). We will not treat you if you arrive intoxicated.
After treatment — report anything unusual immediately
Some marks, redness, tiredness or mild aching can be normal, especially after cupping or deep tissue. If anything feels unusual, or you need our help, contact us straight away on 07365 244400 or WhatsApp. Do not wait until the next day if you are worried.
Call us immediately — and use NHS 111, your GP or A&E if it is urgent — if you have unexpected swelling, spreading redness, pus, fever, fainting, chest pain, difficulty breathing, a severe allergic reaction, bleeding that does not settle, or pain that is getting worse rather than easing.
Follow the aftercare we give you in the room (and in writing if we provide it). Typical advice includes keeping the area clean, avoiding heat, swimming, heavy exercise, alcohol and tight clothing for the period we specify, and not picking at marks or scabs after wet cupping. If our spoken aftercare differs for your treatment, follow that version.
Wet cupping, tinting and other higher-risk work
Wet cupping involves small cuts to the skin and drawing of a small amount of blood. There will be marks. There is a risk of bruising, soreness, staining of the skin, and, rarely, infection. You should not book wet cupping if you are pregnant, anaemic, on blood thinners, or have been advised against it by a clinician. Eat a light meal and drink water beforehand unless we tell you otherwise; tell us if you feel faint.
Patch tests for tinting should be done where we advise. If you skip a patch test, you accept the extra risk of a reaction. Do not book a second treatment the same day with another studio without telling us — products and skin need time.
Insurance
The studio holds business insurance for the treatments we offer, including public liability cover appropriate to this work. Insurance does not remove your duty to complete the health form, to tell us about changes in advance, or to follow aftercare. It also does not turn complementary therapy into a medical service.
Results
We do not guarantee a particular cosmetic or therapeutic result. Skin, muscle and healing vary. Photographs on this site and on social media are examples, not a promise.
Conduct
We may end a session and ask you to leave, without a refund, if you are abusive, intoxicated, or refuse the women-only rule. Do not film other guests. Ask before you photograph the room.
Liability
We are responsible for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, and for anything else we cannot exclude under English law. We are not responsible for loss you could have avoided, for a reaction or injury that follows information you withheld or a health form you did not complete honestly, or for disappointment where we have provided the treatment with reasonable care and skill. Keep valuables with you; the studio is small and we cannot guard bags.
Website
The website is a brand home for the Bebington studio. Menu prices match the studio leaflet at the time of publication; if a price on Fresha or in the room differs on the day, we will tell you before you start. Content is for information. Do not rely on it as medical advice.
Complaints
Email or call us first. We will try to put things right. You may also use UK consumer advice services such as Citizens Advice.
